Wedding Planning and Where to Start

Have an engagement Party

Congratulations your engaged. Before you begin planning your wedding, take some time to enjoy being engaged! Throw an engagement party , gaze at that engagement ring in your finger and enjoy some quality time as a newly engaged couple.

Try not to allow the excitement rush you into planning your wedding, take your time, use planning an engagement party as a trial run for planning your wedding.

Work as a team your plan your wedding

Communication is a crucial step to building any relationship, especially the one you intend to keep forever! Start this wedding planning journey by having some very important conversations about your desires for your Big Day.

  • Would you like to have a church wedding, or are you considering a civil wedding with a celebrant. Have you always dreamed of getting married in a church or do you envision saying ‘I do’ outdoors in the countryside? Discuss these with your partner because this will shape your day.

  • Your wedding vision – what comes to mind when you picture tying the knot? Begin with this picture and use that to build your special day.

  • What’s your priority for your wedding, for example a wedding with all your friends and family or a small intimate wedding with your immediate family and a few close friends.

Financing a wedding can cost more than you think.

Its important that you know what you have to spend on your wedding ,have a budget. Sit down with anybody who plans to contribute towards the wedding (including parents and other close family members) and have a very open conversation about what your spend will be.

Couple tend to spend at least 50% more than they planned.

Plan at least two years before the event .

Pick a date

You may need to consider when is the right time to set the date. ? This decision will be determined by a few factors:

  • Finances – do you need time to save more money before setting a date? Would you prefer to select an off-peak date that will likely be more affordable ( winter and midweek wedding dates!).

  • What time of the year. if you’ve had your heart set on a warm summer wedding, then that will help to narrow down your date options.

  • Work commitments – when will you be able to take time off?

  • Guest commitments: .IF possible try to avoid picking dates that class with other family events .

Where would you like to get married? Its your Choice.

Choose where in the country you would like to get married! The Choices are endless and the world is (literally) your oyster.
